The youth and family programs offered in this congregation strive to bring an intergenerational experience as they offer fellowship, education and service to children, youth and adults of all ages. All programs are offered to members and non-members and we encourage participation in all we do from members of the community. A weekly education hour is available every Sunday morning for those age 3 through age 100. Confirmation classes are held on Sunday mornings for youth in 7th, 8th and 9th grades. Social justice forums are routinely offered. New member classes, baptism classes and communion classes are available. Several annual events include:
Rally Weekend - crazy fun for all on the weekend following Labor Day.
Confirmation Kick Off Camp-a camping weekend for confirmation students at Camp Indian Sands in Neshkoro WI.
Confirmation Program—an educational program for youth in grades 7-9. A special service
Bible Distribution-all children age 3 and in 3rd grade receive the gift of an age appropriate Bible during worship.
Health Fair-over 25 interactive and informational health related displays along with a 5-mile run and 3-mile walk open to the community.
Halloween Trunk or Treat Party-held on the Wednesday evening closest to Halloween.
Children’s Christmas Program-held on a Sunday morning in December with a birthday lunch that follows.
Winter Middle School Retreat-held each January at the Green Lake Conference Center.
Road Trip-each year we pack up the 15-passenger van with high school youth and explore odd and unusual sites throughout the midwest for a day.
Spring Insomniac-high school youth stay up all night and experience the city of Madison.
Palm Sunday Musical-intergenerational musical reenacting the passion of Christ.
Vacation Bible School- a themed program written and produced by our staff and volunteers held evenings for one week in June for all ages.
Summer Mission Trip-for high school aged youth (see entry under Outreach Ministries) Adult Retreat-periodic retreats are held for adults of the congregation to experience something different geographically, to develop deeper relationships between participants and to test/explore/strengthen the spirituality of those who attend. |
